Razlan Razali is the Founder of the WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team. He is joined by Wilco Zeelenberg and Filippo Conti, who also lead the WithU GRT RNF MotoE team. WithU’s title sponsorship
WithU has agreed to become title sponsor of the Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team, the team’s former sponsor, in a three-year deal. Razlan Razali’s team is currently running Yamaha M1s on a one-year deal with the Iwata factory. The deal was announced on January 24 in Verona, Italy, when the team unveiled its first race bike, the YZR-M1.
Andrea Dovizioso
The former Ducati rider has agreed to join the Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team in 2022. The move will see Dovizioso return to the premier class after spending ten months out of the sport. He will join the team after the dissolution of Petronas Yamaha SRT. The two previous MotoGP champions will be replaced by Maverick Vinales and Franco Morbidelli in the 2021 season.
Darren Binder
After a promising Moto3 season, Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has signed Darryn Binder, who will join the rebranded RNF MotoGP Team in 2022. The deal also includes the option for Binder to stay in the team through the 2023 MotoGP season. He has been in Moto3 since 2015 and won the Catalan GP last year. He is currently sixth in the title standings with three races left in the season.
Aprilia riders
The WithU RNF MotoGP Team has a deal with Aprilia for two years. The deal will take effect in the 2023 season. The Aprilia riders are expected to make a name for themselves in the MotoGP field. The two companies have been partners for four years. In that time, they’ve won the Moto2 championship, the TT, and the Moto3 championship.
Dovizioso’s goals for 2022
After Andrea Dovizioso’s switch to Yamaha last year, the Italian is now focusing on his development with the new team. He will be working on adjusting to the new Yamaha and the new Michelin rear tire, as well as using the balance of both tires. Previously, Dovizioso raced on a year-old M1 for the Petronas SRT team, but he has switched to the new bike for this season. Andrea Dovizioso will begin testing with the new team in Malaysia next month. He will also be working on his riding style, as a new tire will force him to make more changes to his style.
New livery for 2022
WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Racing has unveiled their new livery for the 2022 season. The team, which will replace the Petronas Sepang Racing Team in the upcoming season, is sponsored by Petronas, which had previously ceased its MotoGP activities after the 2021 season. The team also lost two riders from the previous season due to retirement and internal promotions. The team has hired two more for the 2022 season.
WithU’s five-year contract with IRTA
Razlan Razali, the former CEO of Sepang International Circuit, has been named team principal for the WithU Yamaha RNF MotoGP Team. The team recently signed a five-year contract with the IRTA, the body that oversees all MotoGP racing teams. It will compete in the MotoGP series as an independent team until 2026. Razali had previously been with Petronas and had signed an annual contract with Yamaha.
